Produced and Mastered by Robert George

"From song selection to rewriting & arranging, key and tempo selection, guide track determination (just in case), to the hand-picked ensemble we recorded with in Nashville, I relied on Robert's hands-on studio guidance & technical expertise. Robert oversaw every decision and delivered the most rewarding musical experience of my life. He was not only able to "bring forth" my creativity, he has transformed my vision of my music and what I am ultimately capable of doing with it. It was the best investment of time, capital, and faith that I have ever made. If you want to live your dream, you will need a guide. Robert is mine."  --Deater Kelley

Deater Kelley is a singer-songwriter-pianist currently living Naples, Florida, whose skills were actually honed in exactly the reverse of that order. His music is immersed in imaginative lyrics, hip harmonies and influences from Van Morrison to Steely Dan to Peter Gabriel to Coldplay.

He played for years as a sideman on piano & keys and had written an entire catalogue of material but had not recorded any of it. Four years ago, he began fronting a band vocally. After seeing the band play and asking about Deater’s original material, Robert offered his services to help take Deater to the next level. Over a period of two and a half months, they took a catalogue of 150 of Deater’s songs, reduced it to 40 viable candidates, and recorded 12 songs - piano and vocal only - in Robert’s studio in Naples. They ultimately cut 7 tracks at Omni Studios in Nashville with some of the best studio musicians and singers in town. The mp3 samples listed above are the result, and are provided for your listening pleasure.
